No One's Talking!

Tabula Rasa is set to launch October 19th, the beta NDA has been lifted, but I can't seem to find anyone that will give a decent post about their beta experience. Hopefully, in the next couple of days we will see some great posts from beta testers.

Sadly, this just confirms my suspicions that the interest in Tabula Rasa is not that big. I'm not interested in the game and I don't know anyone that is actually set on playing it. A few of my "I play every MMORPG" friends may give it a whirl, but they will play anything.

I'm debating whether to give the game a try. It has been a good while since I gave a random game a chance. I normally stick to playing games that I've followed for months (or years) through development, beta, and launch. I have paid almost no attention to Tabula Rasa and that may have set the stage for me to play it. Unfortunately, there is that whole work, school, wife, and dog equation that I need fit gaming back into.

  1. Just for you, Heartless: My Tabula Rasa preview. Couldn't post it earlier, NDA was lifted only today.

  2. It really wasn't great. Just more of the same at a quicker pace... which works against it in the long run as it becomes repetitive more quickly.

  3. I'll have my casual review of the game up later. I'm no critic, but I know what I like and what I don't... and TR is not my type of game, at least not at 50 clams plus monthly fees.

I think we're all in the same boat, I've got my mini-review to put on on DR as well, but Tabula Rasa just hasn't WoW'd me at all (pun intended).

What little positive improvements I've seen or heard of were only being announced less than a month ago. Those could potentially improve the game for the better, but they still won't be enough.

I think it'll draw in a fair number of newer MMO players and casual folks that down mind just playing a MMO for just a couple months.

I just haven't seen anything that'll keep people playing and paying, nor drawing in the hardcore MMO gamers.

  5. Unfortunately, so far its not as good as I'd hoped. A nice diversion but not worthy of a monthly subscription.
