Monpy Tython

Star Wars: The Old Republic is still looking OLD! I present: The Making of Tython.

After watching the video linked above, please read the following.

Is it just me, or does every new video for SW:ToR make the game look absolutely boring? Bioware better have some wiz-bang combat previews coming up or I am officially jumping off the train for this one.

So far I have yet to see any game, just some footage of Jedi (which was not impressive). Need real info.

Well, 'fess up. What's the feature(s) you are looking for that will make you sit up and say, I gotta play this game?

Right now it looks like a standard fantasy game, but with light sabers instead of swords and blasters instead of crossbows.

  3. Tipa, you answered the question. I am looking for ANYTHING that will differentiate this game from what we have right now, and I'm just not seeing it.

Will it be a horrible game because of that? No, but it will be just another average game if Bioware doesn't do something different with it.

We don't really know anything, other than the game engine they're useing and their intent on story design.

The graphics are more stylized, and that has pluses and minuses. The game engine (HeroEngine) by Simutronics is extremely powerful, letting multiple game masters work on creating areas and events on the fly almost at the same time. Go to the website and check it out, it's impressive.

Other than that, we know that they want to make your in-game decisions affect your characters story, and to have essentially an entire story for each class/proffession/whatever. So as long as you don't play the same charcter twice, you're experience will be different as far as what content you play (i.e. no over-laping quests).

As for PvP/PvE focus, don't think that's been made clear yet.

If they can really hold up these promises, it should be pretty good.
